The Literacy through Drama programme aims to introduce to children a host of language and literacy skills through advanced speech and drama strategies. In our contextualised drama activities, students define, articulate, express and verbalise thoughts.  Children are encouraged to use literate language that will eventually transfer into their learning of written language.

Objectives:

  • to build students' vocabulary bank thematically, to learn and use appropriate words to express themselves effectively.
  • to encourage reading and deepen students' understanding of narrative passages.
  • to build students' confidence level in using figurative language in composition writing in school and in conversations.
  • to build and enhance students' self-esteem and confidence level through stage experience.
